I came across my art pen name by chance, it was given to me by a women I do not know. I was paying for some art supplies, and she said my name several times... Sylvia Luna....what a beautiful name! It's Silver Moon! I took it as a sign from my muse, I liked it and I kept it! I enjoy working with mixed media, mostly collage, but like most of you, I do not limit myself to just paper, I also enjoy working with fabric, beads, metals, wood, and polymer clay. I have previously taught classes locally which upon several years ago I introduced Altered Book classes to the valley. Later my article entitled "101 Ways to Alter Books by Silver Moon" was published in Artitude. Since then I continue to contribute to various alternative art zines. I have a classroom/art studio in my home where I teach and have brought in local and national guest artists such as Doris Arndt and Brionie Vardon Williams, a second studio is also available at the family cabin in northern Arizona for workshops. I have hosted several swaps, and my latest endeavor is becoming a vendor at national artist conventions.
